Chi-Town

It’s been a month since I last posted but I definitely wasn’t staying still during it.

First up was Oxford, OH for Sophia’s graduation from Miami University. While it might have rained on us, I loved spending the afternoon hanging with her, her friends, and their parents. Sadly, we didn’t get many pictures.

The next weekend, I flew back to Chicago for Memorial Day and Scott joined us from LA. We stayed along the river and tried a new place,The Publican in the Fulton Market neighborhood for dinner. Both places found through my Chase Sapphire Reserve card and came with $$$ in credits.

Saturday, we hit up an afternoon Cubs game. It was a little chilly in the shade and the Cubs lost 3-0 but we’re Southsiders. Go Sox.

We continued the afternoon in Wrigleyville, hitting up several spots for live music, making it a late night. We tried pickle pizza. Hint, hint: it would have been better if the pickles were cold and crunchy rather than cooked.

Finally, Sunday morning we braved the rain for a Chicago architecture boat tour. Luck was with us as the rain stopped and the sun came out when the tour started. I’ve always said Chicago has one of the top five skylines. The tour confirmed this for me. The narrator was also excellent! Check out Wendella Tours and Cruises. Booked through Viator.

Later, I flew to DC and Scott went to LA where he’s starting his new life. Looking forward to Thanksgiving when me, Sophia, and Henry hit the road to LA.
