Vietnam - April 2026

My trip is finally here. It’s a crazy one so buckle up for the ride.

Today, I head to Chicago. I was supposed to fly out of DC but with the current Middle East situation what it is, I decided it was best to reroute the layover from Doha to Tokyo.

And since I was planning to get my hair done last weekend in Chicago, I figured fly a day early and do it then. So last weekend’s trip to Chicago cancelled. And I’m just about there.

The rest of the itinerary is busy.

Hanoi for a few days of site seeing. Then to Minh’s wedding (so grateful that she included me in her special day ), back to Hanoi and finally getting to Halong Bay. If you’ve never seen pictures, you’ll want to check in on mine next week. I’ve heard the limestone mountains are spectacular.

Back to Chicago and from there to Seattle to lay Rob to rest. Full military honors. I get overwhelmed when I think of the finality of that moment.

From there, I’m heading to Alaska with some family. Much needed time together. In addition to being with them, I’m really looking forward to seeing some brown bears (from a far) and whales!

So hang on, tons of posts and photos coming the next 18 days as I finally can shake off the stillness and move.
